Gerard & Jacques
by Yoshinaga Fumi
Scanlator: Soup
STATUS: Complete
Type: Yaoi
Volume 1
Volume 2
chestershire says: A short manga by Yoshinaga Fumi, author of the brilliant Antique Bakery, Gerard & Jacques takes place in France, around the time of the revolution(circa 1789).Jacques, a child of a Noble family in bankrupcy, has been sold to a whorehouse. Gerard, a bourgeois and writer, often visits this particular whorehouse, and despite Jacques' reluctance, buys him for the night - and then buys him his freedom. It so happens that Jacques, now free and seeking employment, unknowingly presents himself to
Gerard's house for work. Thus starts their story, Jacques' growing feelings, etc.
It's a mostly lighthearted and very pleasant yaoi, which never dwelves into deeply annoying character clichés. There's also some graphic smexing.

chestershire says: Amazingly groovy and fun. A lot of my love goes to I Can't Decide, not because I am biased and do love Doctor Who, but because it has a really catchy tune and awesome lyrics. Recommended for playlists/fansoundtracks revolving around psychoships. I don't feel like Dancin' ,very groovy too. Intermission and I Don't Feel Like Dancing also recced muchly.
